BankEast Corporation was organized as a bank holding company on January 21, 2004 in the state of Tennessee. The company does business primarily through its subsidiaries, BankEast and Curtis Mortgage Company, Inc. On April 30, 2004, the Company acquired all outstanding shares of BankEast, and the Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of BankEast Corporation.
BankEast is a Tennessee chartered bank whose principal office is located at 607 Market Street, Knoxville, Tennessee. The Bank is regulated by the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Since opening with two offices in 2004, BankEast has grown its branch network to ten offices and ten ATMs in Knox, Blount, and Sevier counties.
Curtis Mortgage Company, Inc. is a mortgage banking company whose principal office is at 607 Market Street, Knoxville, Tennessee. Curtis Mortgage originates then sells conforming and non-conforming mortgage loans to secondary market investors. The Mortgage Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of BankEast and serves the East Tennessee market area through offices located in BankEast branch locations.
